This design allows the weight of the weapon to aid in keeping the configuration set to the operator's preference. This part is the replacement part for our older version of the 3Point. This does not include the sling. Please go to the 3-point sling link at the left of this page to purchase the entire sling. This new design acts just as a rope climber's Ascender, also called a Prussik Knot. A Prussik Knot allows the device to slide freely in one direction (usually the intended direction of movement) but tightly grips the rope when pulled on in the opposite direction. This widely used concept has now been employed into our IMPD 3-Point Tactical Single Point Sling. Our new Prussik Slide Release Tab (PSRT) utilizes the weight of the weapon to tightly grip the webbing when slung. This prevents the PSRT from sliding towards the rear into the single point configuration. To configure the sling into a single point sling, simply grab the rear tab of the PSRT and pull it towards the rear. Now the military or law enforcement operator can search dangerous urban areas with multiple threat zones & transition the weapon to either shoulder thus exposing a minimal amount of their body to the enemy. To reconfigure the IMPD into a three point sling, the tactical operator can grab the front main portion of the PSRT & slide it towards the front of the weapon. There are no buckles to re connect. The IMPD 3-Point Tactical Single Point Sling can now be carried in the assault carry position. The assault carry position allows the the tactical operator to comfortably sling the weapon in front of their torso, which keeps the weapon up tight, and allows for hands free defensive tactics. The weapon can also quickly be thrown behind the tactical operator's back, keeping the weapon out of the way to engage an unarmed combatant. Anyone who currently owns an IMPD 3-Point Tactical Sling can request a free upgrade PSRT to replace the previous slide stop. Please contact us for details. |
